If you’re visiting Vegas or just looking to explore your local city in a unique way, Vegas Nights promises the best view possible. Vegas Nights is an evening helicopter tour offered by Maverick Helicopters. The tour consists of a night time flight over all of the Las Vegas landmarks. You will see the Bellagio fountains, the Luxor pyramid, the New York-New York skyline, and the newly built T-Mobile Arena.
What makes the Vegas Nights tour truly unique is that you can see all the cool advertisements and light shows that can only be viewed from the sky. You don’t really understand why the Luxor has a giant gaming advertisement on the side until you’re thousands of feet in the sky reading it.
This tour is the quickest way to view Las Vegas. If you’re short on time and want to see the entire city, this is the tour for you. Usually, it takes a few hours by car to really see what Vegas has to offer. Vegas Nights turns hours into minutes, there’s none of the annoying traffic holding you back from being great.
The Experience
The tour starts off with a check-in at the private airport by the famous Las Vegas sign. You can either catch a shuttle there or self-drive. Parking was easy breezy because most of the parties are in designated shuttles. Once you enter the hangar, you are greeted with a glass of complimentary champagne. As you sip champagne, you then have a meet & greet with your pilot. It’s definitely good to get to know the person who’s going to have your life in their hands for the next hour or so. This particular tour is only about 15 minutes but the rule still applies.
Once the meet & greet is done and your party is ready to go, you will be escorted to the helicopter by your pilot. Before entering, you will get to take a pre-flight photo that’s available for purchase in the lobby when you return. The pilot will give you a rundown on safety and how to properly wear your seatbelt and headphones. He or she will go over the important house rules. Once everyone is briefed and loaded into the helicopter, it’s time to hit the skies.
Once the helicopter gets moving, you will be in complete awe. You will wonder how you’ve gone all these years without a personal helicopter to get around. I’ve lived in Vegas now for two years and once I was up in the sky I felt like there was so much I was seeing for the first time. Usually it takes hours to explore the strip and see downtown Vegas. On the Vegas Nights tour, I was able to explore the strip and see all of downtown in under 10 minutes. If you’re in town for a short layover and want to see all that Vegas has to offer visually, this is the tour for you.
During the flight you don’t really hear much except some cool mood setting music and the helicopter itself. Your pilot is busy keeping you safe coordinating with air control. Upon landing, you will get the opportunity to take photos with the helicopter and your pilot once again. The photo you took before boarding will also be available for purchase in the lobby just in case you forgot your camera. They even have it waiting in a custom decorative plaque for those of you that love souvenirs.
Overall, I enjoyed the Vegas Nights tour by Maverick. This particular tour is the shortest and most affordable but it’s also the best way to view Vegas at night. After taking this tour, I am now interested in going on one of the other tours offered by Maverick . Vegas Nights is Terry McFly Approved! If you’re in town, get to the chopper!
